These freshmen were a huge part of their respective teams. And 2016 will undoubtedly bring us more stellar freshmen.

FOX Sports got the opinions of 35 college coaches and recruiters, and they each picked one player who would make the biggest impact in his rookie season at the college level.

DT Rashan Gary – 8 votes

Size: 6-4, 300 pounds
Status: Gary has narrowed his choices down to Michigan, Auburn, USC, Ole Miss, Clemson and Alabama.
From the coaches: According to one unnamed coach, “He’s 300 pounds and he moves well enough, he can play end. He’s great with his hands. He’s strong. He’s been very well-coached and has had a great high school D-line coach. Rashan Gary is the Leonard Fournette of this class.”

DT Ed Oliver – 4 votes

Size: 6-2, 280 pounds
Status: Oliver is committed to Houston.
From the coaches: “He is explosive as [expletive], and he’s going to be going up against a lot of very average offensive linemen,” an unnamed assistant coach said. “I think he’d be a problem for a lot of SEC linemen. In that league he’s going to be scary.”

OT Greg Little – 3 votes

Size: 6-6, 310 pounds
Status: Little is committed to Ole Miss.
From the coaches: “He is just so polished,” an unidentified SEC coach said. “He has excellent feet and excellent technique.”

QB Jacob Eason – 2 votes

Size: 6-5, 230 pounds
Status: Eason enrolled early at Georgia.
From the coaches: “He’s really good,” an unnamed assistant coach said. “He’ll start for them next year. He reminds me of a bigger Sam Bradford. I like his arm.”

OT Jonah Williams – 2 votes

Size: 6-5, 290 pounds
Status: Williams enrolled early at Alabama.
From the coaches: According to an unidentified offensive line coach, “He is ultra-smart and heavy handed. He has a super high motor, is intense and he gives uncommon effort every play.”

WR Drake Davis – 2 votes

Size: 6-4, 215 pounds
Status: Davis is committed to LSU.
From the coaches: One coach said Davis is “the best specimen in the entire class. He’s track fast. He’s football fast. He can be a very special receiver, but he could probably be whatever you want him to be.”

DE Nick Bosa – 1 vote

Size: 6-4, 265 pounds
Status: Bosa is committed to Ohio State.
From the coaches: According to one coach, “He’s not the freak some of these other D-linemen are, but he’s just a heck of a ball player.”

WR A.J. Brown – 1 vote

Size: 6-2, 220 pounds
Status: Brown has narrowed down his choices to Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama.
From the coaches: “He’s not as tall as Laquon Treadwell,” an unnamed SEC coach said. “But he has the same ball skills and is physical like him, and he’s faster than him.”

CB Tyler Byrd – 1 vote

Size: 5-11, 195 pounds
Status: Byrd is committed to Miami.
From the coaches: According to one assistant coach, “He’s just a baller. Watch him in the Army All-American Game. He blocks a kick and returns it. Then, he picks off a pass. He’s a great competitor.”

DT Raekwon Davis – 1 vote

Status: Davis is committed to Alabama.
From the coaches: “He is an utter freak-show,” an unidentified assistant coach said. “He runs like a damn deer. He’s really raw, but he is a rare athlete.”

CB Damar Hamlin – 1 vote

Size: 6-1, 175 pounds
Status: Hamlin has narrowed down his choices to Pitt, Ohio State, Penn State and Notre Dame.
From the coaches: “The loosest hips and the best feet of any cornerback I’ve ever seen,” and unnamed assistant coach said. “He’s physical and he’s fast. He’ll be a first-round corner.”

WR/CB/KR Jack Jones – 1 vote

Size: 5-10, 178 pounds
Status: Jones has narrowed down his choices to USC, Alabama and Texas A&M.
From the coaches: “I know he’s not very big, but he’s just a [expletive] stud,” an unnamed coach said. “He has great ball skills. His change of direction is unbelievable and he’s got great confidence. He can be a lock-down corner and I think from Day One he’s going to make a bunch of big plays on special teams.”

DT Kendell Jones – 1 vote

Status: Jones is committed to Alabama.
From the coaches: According to one coach, “He is the most physically mature kid I’ve ever seen in high school. He’s just huge and strong and he will fit their defense for what they want.”

DT Dexter Lawrence – 1 vote

Status: Lawrence is committed to Clemson.
From the coaches: I think he will [eventually] be a top-10 NFL Draft pick,” an unnamed coach said. “He’s a solid, humble kid. He’s a lot bigger than [Rashan] Gary.”

From the coaches: “The guy makes plays everywhere,” one recruiting coordinator said. “He was the best linebacker I saw on high school tape this year.”

WR/CB Demetrius Robertson – 1 vote

Size: 5-11, 175 pounds
Status: Robertson has narrowed his choices down to Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama and Stanford.
From the coaches: “He’s gonna be a difference-maker right away I think,” an unnamed recruiting coordinator said. “He can be special whether he plays offense or defense.”

RB Miles Sanders – 1 vote

Status: Sanders is committed to Penn State.
From the coaches: “He has great change of direction, a great feel for open-field running, can make the unblocked guy miss; he’s hard to bring down, and he’s got long speed to finish,” an unnamed coach said.
