Which programs will welcome star-studded 2016 signing classes Wednesday? The usual suspects are in the running, but after Alabama’s five-year run of No. 1 recruiting classes there could be a change at the top.

There’s still a LOT to be decided in the next 24 hours so buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride. Here is the projected finish for the SEC’s 2016 recruiting classes.

1. LSU

The Tigers showed a level of in-state dominance never seen before as they landed eight of the top 10 prospects in Louisiana and could make it nine if five-star defensive back Kristian Fulton joins the class on National Signing Day as some expect. It’s a big accomplishment for Les Miles, who looked like he was going to be fired after the 2015 season, but it will also bring more pressure to win.

Notable commits: Five-star defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence, four-star cornerback Saivion Smith.

Signing Day surprise: Five-star cornerback Kristian Fulton.

2. Ole Miss

It’s hard to knock a class that has arguably the best quarterback and best left tackle in the nation. If anything, the fact that the quarterback position is set for Ole Miss for the next 3-4 seasons should make the Rebels a team worthy of playoff consideration over that time span.

Notable commits: Five-star offensive tackle Gregory Little, five-star quarterback Shea Patterson.

Signing Day surprise: Five-star defensive lineman Jeffrey Simmons, four-star safety Deontay Anderson.

3. Alabama

When the smoke clears, I expect the Crimson Tide will be very close to the top spot but will fall short. However, Alabama could finish strong enough to bump ahead of Ole Miss and could finish as high as No. 2 in the nation with the right amount of momentum. As I see it the SEC will easily have three of the top five classes and could go 1-2-3.

Notable commits: Five-star offensive tackle Jonah Williams, four-star cornerback Nigel Knott.

Signing Day surprise: Five-star linebacker Lyndell “Mack” Wilson and five-star linebacker Ben Davis, five-star athlete Mecole Hardman Jr.

4. Georgia

With most of Georgia’s top targets still on the table, the expectation is they will close strong and make a case for a top 5 class. Still despite all the rumblings surrounding many of the Bulldogs’ targets, the best recruiting job Kirby Smart did was keeping the pledge of five-star quarterback Jacob Eason, who could be the Bulldogs starter on opening day 2016.

Notable commits: Five-star quarterback Jacob Eason, five-star tight end Isaac Nauta.

Signing Day surprise: Five-star athlete Demetris Robertson (post signing day), five-star offensive tackle E.J. Price.

5. Florida

The Gators should secure a top 10 class nationally. The only issue they might have with a strong close is that the class is close to full, and in order for a couple of late top targets to move in, someone’s going to have to move out or be greyshirted. So the class you see now may not be the same class that signs to Jim McElwain’s program Wednesday.

Notable commits: Four-star defensive end Antonneous Clayton, four-star cornerback Chauncey Gardner.

Signing Day surprise: Four-star wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland.

6. Auburn

This might turn into a tough-luck class for Auburn as it seems like they will finish second with several of their top targets. Of course there’s still a day remaining so some of those targets are still on the table. It seems like the Tigers will add at least two top targets, but the question mark around where five-star defensive tackle Derrick Brown goes is what will determine whether this class is excellent or just very good.

Notable commits: Four-star defensive end Marlon Davidson, four-star wide receiver Kyle Davis.

Signing Day surprise: Five-star defensive tackle Derrick Brown, four-star wide receiver Nate Craig-Myers.

7. Tennessee

The Volunteers are the team to watch Wednesday. There’s already signs of good momentum with the likelihood of four-star safety Nigel Warrior continuing the legacy of his father, Dale Carter, in Volunteer orange. But the key here is landing the two elite defensive linemen on the board. Like Auburn, Tennessee’s biggest boost or disappointment will come from five-star lineman Derrick Brown.

Notable commits: Four-star quarterback Jarrett Guarantano, four-star wide receiver Marquez Callaway.

Signing Day surprise: Four-star defensive end Jonathan Kongbo, Four-star safety Nigel Warrior.

8. Texas A&M

The Aggies’ road to signing day already hit a major bump when four-star prospect Mark Jackson left the class for Oklahoma. Texas A&M can recover if a couple of targets come through on signing day, but that was a tough break Monday night.

Notable commits: Four-star defensive end Justin Madubuike, four-star offensive tackle Kellen Diesch.

Signing Day surprise: Four-star wide receiver Quartney Davis, four-star linebacker Aaron Hansford.

9. Arkansas

The Hogs have closed with a half dozen commits in the past week. They are battling the Gators and TCU for Tyrie Cleveland but have otherwise secured a top 25 class.

Notable commits: Five-star defensive end McTelvin Agim, four-star running back Devwah Whaley.

Signing Day surprise: None.

10. South Carolina

Notable commits: Four-star quarterback Brandon McIlwain, four-star wide receiver Bryan Edwards.

Signing Day surprise: Four-star defensive lineman Karamo Dioubate, three-star defensive lineman Aaron Thompson.

11. Kentucky

Notable commits: Four-star offensive lineman Landon Young, four-star offensive lineman Drake Jackson.

Signing Day surprise: None.

12. Mississippi State

Notable commits: Four-star defensive end Marquiss Spencer, three-star athlete Jamal Couch.

Signing Day surprise: Four-star defensive lineman Kobe Jones, four-star offensive lineman Scott Lashley.

13. Vanderbilt

Notable commits: Four-star cornerback Joejuan Williams, three-star offensive lineman Sean Auwae.

Signing Day surprise: Four-star linebacker Bradlee Anae, who would play well alongside Zach Cunningham.

14. Missouri

Notable commits: Four-star running back Natereace Strong, three-star defensive end Marvin Terry.

Singing Day surprise: Transfer WR Chris Black (already happened).
