HOOVER, Ala. — Last season Chad Kelly became just the third quarterback in SEC history to throw for 4,000 yards.

This fall, the Ole Miss gunslinger has a chance to become the first to do so twice in a career.

Kelly’s 2016 goals, however, are grander than personal milestones or bronze trophies.

Those goals: “15-0 and SEC championship and a national championship,” Kelly said Thursday during the SEC Media Days.

Kelly spent most of his 10 minutes discussing his teammates and the opportunities in front of the Rebels.

Here are a few highlights from the video above:

On handling bigger expectations this season: “To have a season like we had was compelling. I’m anxious to get back out there and top that.”

On whether his young receiving corps can be as dangerous without Laquon Treadwell: “I think they can because we have a lot more weapons than we did last year. As long as those young guys come around and play without thinking, I think we’ll be very good. … We have some great wide receivers.”

On whether he’s worried about whether his rebuilt offensive line can protect him long enough to achieve the personal and team goals: “I’m not because when Laremy Tunsil was out, a lot of those guys stepped up and were able to fill those shoes As you saw, we beat the defending champs, so I know those guys are working really, really hard right now. … I think those young guys are willing to step up and fill those shoes.”
