After being selected No. 29 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, expectations are high for Arizona’s Robert Nkemdiche. However the former Ole Miss star defender will have to wait at least two weeks before making his initial impression with the Cardinals, as the rookie defensive lineman has already suffered an injury to his ankle.

Following the team’s first official day of training camp, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians confirmed the injury news Saturday:

To be specific, the injury is a high ankle sprain and is not expected to linger into the regular season. The Cardinals are expected to ease Nkemdiche into the lineup following the offseason acquisition of defensive lineman Chandler Jones from the New England Patriots.

During his three years in Oxford, Nkemdiche accumulated 81 tackles, 16 for a loss and six sacks. Showing off his athleticism on offense, the big defensive lineman also caught a 31-yard touchdown and scored two rushing touchdowns during his junior season with Ole Miss.
