SEC has some outstanding non-conference matchups in 2017
If you thought this year’s opening slate of college football games was good, just wait until next year.
SEC teams will take on some top non-conference foes throughout the season, starting in Week 1.
The non-conference slate starts with a bang on opening weekend with Alabama taking on Florida State in Atlanta.
That same week, Texas A&M travels to the Rose Bowl to square off against UCLA.
(Side note: It’ll be a good year to be an Aggies fan. In addition to the game in Los Angeles, Texas A&M will travel to Dallas to play at AT&T Stadium, The Swamp in Gainesville, The Grove in Oxford and Death Valley in Baton Rouge.)
Other top non-conference matchups include:
- Florida vs. Michigan (Week 1)
- Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech (Week 1)
- Auburn at Clemson (Week 2)
- TCU at Arkansas (Week 2)
- Georgia at Notre Dame (Week 2)
- Ole Miss at Cal (Week 2)
- Vanderbilt vs. Kansas State (Week 3)
- Florida vs. Florida State (Week 13)
- Georgia at Georgia Tech (Week 13)
- Kentucky vs. Louisville (Week 13)
- South Carolina vs. Clemson (Week 13)
With teams needing to boost their strength of schedule ratings to compete for one of four spots in the College Football Playoff, marquee non-conference matchups are at an all-time high.
It’s a good time to be a college football fan.
