Vanderbilt’s offense hadn’t found the end zone against Kentucky, so its defense picked up the slack.

Junior cornerback Taurean Ferguson recovered Kentucky running back Stanley “Boom” Williams’ fumble and brought it back 22 yards for a score early in the third quarter. The play reduced the Commodores’ deficit to 17-10 and provided the lone spark for a team that has just 97 yards of offense.

Both Vanderbilt (2-3, 0-2) and the Wildcats (2-3, 1-2) are looking for a win to climb out of the bottom of the SEC East.
