With legendary SEC broadcaster Verne Lundquist joining the College GameDay set for the picks segment of Saturday’s show in Tuscaloosa, there was plenty of SEC talk to go around.

Analyst Kirk Herbstreit shared his thoughts on a number of SEC-related topics, from keys to the game between No. 1 Alabama and No. 6 Texas A&M to LSU’s running back situation.

Here’s what the popular ESPN analyst said on Saturday’s College GameDay show:

On Alabama-Texas A&M:

  • “I think Trevor Knight and Trayveon Williams have to be the key for the Aggies to run the football. If A&M wins, they have to hit a couple of deep passes.”
  • “I think the freshman, Jalen Hurts, will be the difference.”

On Alabama’s non-offensive touchdowns:

  • It reminds of the ‘Canes back in the early- and mid-90s.”

On LSU RB Derrius Guice leading LSU’s resurgence:

  • “Guice is running with a passion. He’s running to prove himself. That’s the biggest difference.”

On keeping Ole Miss’s spirits up:

  • “If I were selling the importance of this game to Ole Miss, it’s still a potential 10-win season. This team has had some great years in the last two years. You’ve gotta believe that playing in Tiger Stadium is enough to get them fired up.”

On LSU-Ole Miss:

  • “I think it’s a coin flip. I’m going to go with LSU, mainly because it’s at home.”

On Auburn-Arkansas:

  • “Last week, [Arkansas] finally got back to being able to be physical. They’re going to have to have that today against Auburn, with how they can get after you.
  • “[Auburn is] so athletic on the defensive line. I think Auburn’s going to come after them.”
