Amid rumors of coach Charlie Strong’s firing, Texas could have an even bigger problem on its hands.

Kirk Bohls of The Austin American-Statesman reported Monday that Longhorns players are thinking about boycotting their regular-season finale against TCU on Friday.

According to the report, younger players are upset about reports of Strong’s imminent firing. Bohls’ source said Texas upperclassmen are “trying to settle things down.”

At his Monday news conference, Strong reiterated what he and athletic director Mike Perrin have said all along: the coach will be evaluated at season’s end. That comment was contrary to several reports claiming the school has already decided to fire Strong.

Texas and TCU will wrap up the regular season at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday in Austin.
