While ‘Bama fans may have been hurting following the Crimson Tide’s loss to Clemson in the National Championship Game, Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson was physically hurt.

Clemson’s 35-31 comeback win was spurred by a late offensive explosion thanks in large part to the high volume of plays the Tigers ran on Alabama’s defense. The Tide’s historically good defense wore down as the game went on and the Tigers won the game by scoring the game-winning touchdown with one second remaining.

Clemson ended the game with 99 offensive plays run, the most ever allowed by an Alabama defense in the history of the program.

According to Anderson, the game severely took a toll on his body.

“I couldn’t walk the next day, man,” Anderson said, according to Rainer Sabin of AL.com. “No, I really couldn’t. My legs was hurting. It took like three or four days to get my legs back. I was limping around a little bit. So, it definitely took a toll on me.”

That was the price Anderson paid despite the fact he got to sit out for 11 plays of the game. Imagine how banged up Rashaan Evans and Reuben Foster were after playing 200 snap collectively in the game.
