While LSU isn’t in any desperate need for help at offensive tackle, any wise coach knows you can never have too many offensive linemen in the program. That being the case, the Tigers interest in former Clemson offensive tackle Jake Fruhmorgen makes sense.

A sophomore in 2016, Fruhmorgen is not a graduate transfer from Clemson, thus would not be eligible to play until the 2018 season for any FBS team. According to Shea Dixon of Geaux247, Fruhmorgen will be on LSU’s campus and is expected to hear the coaches recruiting pitch to join the program.

Fruhmorgen was a four-star recruit and a U.S. Army All-American in 2015. He chose Clemson over several elite programs, including SEC powers LSU and Alabama.

Both of LSU’s starting offensive tackles in the 29-9 Citrus Bowl win over Louisville are returning in 2017 -senior K.J. Malone and junior Toby Weathersby. LSU also just signed 2017 four-star tackle prospect Austin Deculus to go along with 2016 four-star recruits Willie Allen and Chidi Valentine-Okeke at offensive tackle.
