When Georgia faculty and staff members in recent weeks received their ticket forms to purchase for the upcoming season, the Notre Dame game in South Bend, Ind., was listed at $170.

At first glance, there was some sticker shock, but a glimpse at the open market revealed it was a bargain. StubHub listed tickets for the Sept. 9 game starting at $490 for the lower level end zone at Notre Dame Stadium.

A look across the SEC reveled an expensive September for non-conference games and the fans who want to attend them. But the Palmetto State rivalry in November held its own as Clemson and South Carolina checked in at $158.

Vivid Seats and StubHub each listed prices for the Alabama-Florida State game in Atlanta’s new Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic at more than $400, mostly in the upper bowl. The same venue two days later on Labor Day saw similar prices at $130 for Tennessee and Georgia Tech.
