Recently, Alabama coach Nick Saban proposed a scheduling idea in which SEC teams would play 12 games a year — 10 conference games and two non-conference games against Power 5 opponents.

While that may seem like a good idea, and would eliminate cupcakes from the schedules, there would need to be some details hammered out before that became a reality.

However, not everyone is on board, as Arkansas coach Bret Bielema told reporters on Thursday that he had some questions about Saban’s plan:

He draws a laugh at the beginning of the above video, saying when you’ve won as many titles as Saban has, you can say whatever you want.

However, the thoughtful coach then went on to say it’s important to keep players healthy, so he would need to see how the bye weeks would come into play before he signed off on such an idea.

It’s an interesting plan, though, and should garner some legitimate attention in the coming years.
