Former Vanderbilt QB Jordan Rodgers dropped his top five offenses Wednesday night on the SEC Network.

Somewhat surprising to folks outside of Columbia, Rodgers has Missouri ranked at No. 1.

“Offensive only, I’ve got Missouri at No. 1,” Rodgers said. “And I don’t think it’s close. They return 10 starters and a 3,000-yard passing quarterback in Drew Lock. They’ve got a 1,000-yard receiver in J’Mon Moore and 1,000-yard rusher in Damarea Crockett … They’ve got talent all over the field.”

After Rodgers finished his explanation, Paul Finebaum then trolled Rodgers over having the Tigers at No. 1.

“Jordan, you’ve got Missouri No. 1. We’re talking football, not basketball.”

Unfortunately, that’s the perception that many folks around the SEC have about the Tigers, but Rodgers has a point — if we’re strictly talking offenses, one can’t discount Missouri.

And the Tigers’ season will be defined by how much they improve defensively, because the offense is going to eat up yards and put numbers on the scoreboard. The defense will be the key to following a 4-8 season.

Mizzou, however, was the only team to represent the SEC East in Rodgers’ rankings. Four Western Division teams made up his final four:

5. LSU Tigers
4. Mississippi State
3. Alabama Crimson Tide
2. Auburn Tigers
1. Missouri Tigers
