The first bowl game of the season is still a few days away, but the 2017 awards for college football continue to roll in.

ESPN unveiled its 2017 All-American team Tuesday morning, and three SEC stars were selected. Auburn OG Braden Smith, Georgia LB Roquan Smith, and Alabama S Minkah Fitzpatrick were the players honored. Each player was also named on the AP All-American list.

Braden Smith was a staple along an Auburn offensive front that paved the way for RB Kerryon Johnson and a dynamic rushing attack. Though the Tigers fell just short in the SEC Championship, Smith had a remarkable season and is well deserving of the honor.

Roquan Smith has been phenomenal all year and also captured the Butkus Award as the nation’s top LB. He led the Bulldogs to an SEC Championship and Playoff appearance while leading one of the best defensive units in the nation.

Fitzpatrick has had a strong year and has proven to be one of the most versatile defenders in the country. He has lined up in a variety of positions for the Crimson Tide and will also compete in the Playoff this season.
