18 former SEC players named to NFL Pro Bowl rosters
Even though there are two weeks left in the regular season, the NFL announced its AFC and NFC Pro Bowl rosters on Tuesday night.
Unsurprisingly, there were plenty of former SEC stars recognized for outstanding seasons, as 18 of the conference’s best and brightest received invitations to the Pro Bowls.
Alabama and Georgia led the way with four players selected each, but perhaps the most notable name on the rosters is former Tennessee RB Alvin Kamara, who made it to the NFC squad as a rookie.
Here’s a full breakdown of Pro Bowl players by college, but the 18 SEC players can be found below:
Alabama
- Landon Collins, S, New York Giants
- Mark Ingram, RB, New Orleans Saints
- Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta Falcons
- C.J. Mosley, LB, Baltimore Ravens
Georgia
- A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
- Todd Gurley, RB, Los Angeles Rams
- Reshad Jones, S, Miami Dolphins
- Geno Atkins, DT, Cincinnati Bengals
Mississippi State
- Fletcher Cox, DT, Philadelphia Eagles
- Darius Slay, CB, Detroit Lions
South Carolina
- Jadeveon Clowney, DE, Houston Texans
- Pharoh Cooper, WR/KR, Los Angeles Rams
Tennessee
- Malik Jackson, DT, Jacksonville Jaguars
- Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
Florida
- Maurkice Pouncey, C, Pittsburgh Steelers
LSU
- Patrick Peterson, CB, Arizona Cardinals
Texas A&M
- Von Miller, DE, Denver Broncos
Vanderbilt
- Casey Hayward, CB, Los Angeles Chargers
Of course, some of these players will likely either end up in the Super Bowl or injured before the end of the year, so more SEC players could be named to fill their spots.
However, if things stand as they are now, there will be plenty of players for SEC fans to watch during the annual Pro Bowl game.
