The Early Signing Period took care of many of the top shelf recruits in the Class of 2018, but there is still plenty of talent available as the Feb. 7 Signing Day nears.

Seven of the 32 5-stars in the class, according to 247Sports.com, have not signed.

Coaching changing have been the biggest catalyst to the changing minds of 5- and 4-star recruits, and since the dead period lifted last week, there was a flurry of official visits across the country and influence hearts and minds.

From California, to Utah, Ohio and the talent-rich Southeast, SEC assistant coaches will be burning up the airports and highways, and busy during home basketball games, trying to make their final pitches to the best players who have yet to sign this recruiting cycle.

Based on the 247 Sports Composite, and its Crystal Ball predictions of where recruits will land, here are the 25 best recruits still considering SEC teams:

Patrick Surtain, Jr.

Stars: 5
Teams in the mix: LSU, Florida State
Skinny: The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native is ranked No. 5 overall and is the top uncommitted prospect in this class. NOLA.com has reported that Alabama has made a push for Surtain, but LSU has been a favorite for a while.

Nicholas Petit-Frere

Stars: 5
Teams in the mix: Florida, Notre Dame, Alabama
Skinny: The Tampa, Fla., prospect visited Florida in July, and has remained interested in the new staff as he’s ranked the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country, and No. 17 overall player. He’s the best OL on the board.

Isaac Taylor-Stuart

Stars: 5
Teams in the mix: Southern Cal, Texas A&M, Alabama
Skinny: The 6-2, 192-pound cornerback from San Diego is arguably the fastest player in the country after he last summer won two 40-yard sprints at national camps sponsored by Adidas and Nike. He was timed in 4.32 seconds and 4.44 seconds.

Tyson Campbell

Stars: 5
Teams in the mix: Miami, Georgia, Alabama, LSU
Skinny: An American Heritage teammate with Surtain, Campbell is known for top-notch instincts and ability to change directions. He made four tackles in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. At 6-2, 180 pounds, Campbell is the No. 27 overall prospect in the nation by the 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 3 cornerback prospect and No. 5 overall in Florida.

Olaijah Griffin

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Southern Cal, Tennessee, UCLA, Oregon
Skinny: The cornerback from Mission Viejo, Calif., was committed to UCLA, but as recent as a few weeks ago, he listed Tennessee as a favorite. The 247 Crystal Ball lists Southern Cal as the leader. If he follows through with Tennessee, Griffin would be the Vols’ top recruit in this class. The Under Armour All-American is rated as the nation’s No. 4 cornerback and its No. 31 overall prospect.

Penei Sewell

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Oregon, Alabama, Southern Cal
Skinny: A 6-5, 249 offensive lineman from Saint George, Utah, he was initially expected to decide by Dec. 20 with Oregon in the lead, but instead pushed it off for February. He was previously considered a top-five offensive tackle, he’s now rated the No. 3 offensive guard in the country, and the top player in Utah.

William Barnes

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Florida, North Carolina, Auburn
Skinny: An offensive tackle from Apopka, Fla., Barnes seems a near-lock to sign with Florida based on the 247 Sports Crystal Ball giving the Gators a 74 percent chance. He’s 6-4, 325. North Carolina was the first school to offer him, and it also happens to be his mother’s alma mater. There’s also the proximity to Gainesville, and new offensive line coach John Hevesy recruited him to Mississippi State before the job change.

Jaylen Waddle

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida State, Texas
Skinny: Waddle, a wide receiver from Bellaire, Texas, near Houston, is a priority target for Texas A&M, and he performed well in the recent Under Armour All-America Game, with three catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. Interestingly enough, Wddle kept Texas A&M and Florida State among his finalists after their head coaching changes, and he’s used up his official visits, so will need to make his final decision around unofficial visits and his basketball schedule. He’s small — 5-9, 175 — but is the No. 7 wide receiver in the country, and No. 6 player in Texas.

Jacob Copeland

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee
Skinny: The 6 foot, 190-pound wide receiver from Pensacola, Fla., is a one-time Florida commitment, who decommitted in late November. The Gators aren’t out of the running; he has a visit scheduled for Feb. 2, which follows a visit to Alabama on Jan. 26. He’s the No. 9 receiver in the country, and the No. 10 player in Florida.

Michael Thompson

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Missouri
Skinny: The Crystal Ball seems to believe that his recruitment is over (92% to Mizzou), but the defensive tackle from St. Louis isn’t expected to officially announce his decision until February. He’s 6-3 and the No. 2 defensive tackle recruit in the country, and top player in Missouri.

Justyn Ross

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Clemson, Alabama, Auburn
Skinny: The Crystal Ball lists Clemson as the favorite for the top prospect in Alabama, though he has upcoming visits scheduled with Alabama and Auburn. Ross, who is 6-4, 201 pounds, is the No. 10 receiver recruit in this class in the country and he’s from Phenix City, Ala.

Ja’Marr Chase

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: LSU, Auburn, Michigan TCU, Florida
Skinny: The fourth-ranked player from Louisiana calls Metairie home, and LSU appears to be the favorite for Chase’s services, despite his topsy turvy recruitment, according to NOLA.com. Chase is 6-1, 195.

Leon O’Neal, Jr.

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Texas A&M, Oklahoma
Skinny: A safety and returner from Cypress, Texas, O’Neal, a one-time A&M commit, is the No. 9 safety in the country, and No. 8 player in Texas. He contributed in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, but isn’t expected to see much action if he goes back to the Aggies, according to a report in the Dallas Morning News.

Joshua Moore

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Texas A&M, Texas, Oregon, Nebraska, Florida State
Skinny: The ninth-ranked player in Texas, Moore is listed as a wide receiver and cornerback, but ranked as the No. 17 WR in the country. He’s from Yoakum, Texas, but moved to IMG Academy before moving back to Texas. He’s one of several de-commitments from Nebraska following its coaching change.

Justin Watkins

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Florida, LSU, Florida State
Skinny: The Clermont, Fla., wide receiver prospect is the No. 21 player at his position in the country, and No. 20 prospect in Florida. He told the Orlando Sentinel that he eliminated Alabama in favor of Florida, at least among the teams he’s considering.

Mario Goodrich

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: LSU, Nebraska, Missouri
Skinny: Goodrich, who is from Lee’s Summit, near Kansas City, is a versatile athlete who is listed as a wide receiver, cornerback and returner. The one-time Nebraska commit stepped away from the Cornhuskers after the coaching change, but is still considering Nebraska, despite several upcoming visits to SEC schools. The 6-2, 180-pound athlete also received Division I basketball offers, but has chosen football for his future path.

Dylan Wonnum

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: South Carolina, Auburn, LSU
Skinny: The younger brother of a South Carolina defensive lineman, D.J. Wonnum, the brothers could play together for at least a year if he chooses the Gamecocks. An offensive tackle listed at 6-5, 279 from Tucker, Ga., the younger Wonnum is the No. 10 player at his position in the country, and No. 18 prospect in Georgia.

Rick Sandidge

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina
Skinny: The No. 10 defensive tackle in America, and No. 6 player in North Carolina, South Carolina is the Crystal Ball favorite here, but he has visits scheduled with both Carolina schools by the end of the month.

Joseph Ossai

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Texas A&M, Texas
Skinny: An in-state battle for the weakside defensive end from Conroe, Texas, which is about 60 miles from the Texas A&M campus. Texas recently promoted an assistant who is popular with recruits, to the 10th assistant position, in a move that 247 Sports reported could sway Ossai.

Tommy Bush

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Baylor, Texas, Michigan State, Georgia
Skinny: A 6-5, 191-pound receiver from Schertz, Texas, has an eye-popping 46 offers, and was expected to announce his decision at the Under Armour All-America Game, but has postponed. It’s difficult to read if Bush wants to stay close to home or is swayed by the recent success of Georgia, for example, but he’s still in high demand as the No. 37 wide receiver in the country, and No. 23 player in Texas.

Andrew Chatfield

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Miami, Florida
Skinny: The Gators appear to be in an uphill battle for a Miami priority in the 6-2, 221 pounder from Fort Lauderdale. He’s the No. 13 weakside defensive end in the country, and No. 37 prospect in Florida. Chatfield is one player Miami, and perhaps other teams, could use to help lure teammates Campbell and Surtain to the same campus. (Yes, American Heritage won the Class 5A state championship.)

Jeremiah Martin

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Southern Cal, Texas A&M, Oklahoma
Skinny: The weakside defensive end from San Bernadino, Calif., is the No. 15 player at his position in this class in the country, and the No. 33 player in California. He’s 6-5, 240 pounds and had 33 sacks this season.

Leonard Taylor

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State
Skinny: Taylor could be the latest Ohio recruit to be reeled in by Kentucky assistant Vince Marrow, who has made his name as a recruiter in the Buckeye State. The tight end is 6-4, 246 pounds, the No. 14 tight end prospect and No. 8 player in Ohio.

Lawrence Keys III

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Notre Dame, LSU, SMU, Houston
Skinny: LSU will have to fend off late visits by Keys to Notre Dame and SMU. Keys is a 5-10, 160 pound receiver from New Orleans, and he’s the No. 6 player in Louisiana. If he signs with LSU, Keys would be the sixth player among the top 10 in Louisiana to sign with LSU.

Malcolm Lamar

Stars: 4
Teams in the mix: Florida State, Florida, Oregon
Skinny: The Seffner, Fla., prospect is the No. 10 strong side defensive end recruit in the country, as he’s 6-5, 250 pounds.
