The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be down a few players in 2018, according to news that broke on Tuesday night.

According to Irish Illustrated, four Notre Dame players have been dismissed for the team for various run-ins with the law and violations of team rules.

Among those kicked off the team, according to the report, is junior WR Kevin Stepherson, who was also suspended for this year’s Citrus Bowl against LSU:

Irish Illustrated has learned that junior wide receiver Kevin Stepherson, sophomore running back Deon McIntosh, sophomore running back CJ Holmes and junior defensive tackle Brandon Tiassum have all be dismissed from the program as the spring semester began in South Bend.

Stepherson had 19 catches for 359 yards and five touchdowns in 2017, so his red-zone presence will certainly be missed.

Notre Dame hosts Vanderbilt in Week 3 of the 2018 season, so the Commodores may be able to take advantage of the depleted Irish roster.
