Since parting ways with Florida during the 2017 season, former coach Jim McElwain has yet to land a new job.

However, that could soon change, according to a report from TheWolverineLounge.com, as McElwain has been talking with Michigan to potentially join Jim Harbaugh’s staff.

According to the report, McElwain was offered the opportunity to call plays for the Wolverines, as former Arkansas OC Dan Enos left Michigan after only 2.5 weeks on the job to take a position on Alabama’s staff:

McElwain was offered to call plays with a title uncertain, per multiple sources. The interest from Michigan in hiring a new playcaller stems from assistant Dan Enos leaving for Alabama after being hired 17 days prior.

Since McElwain didn’t land a new head coaching gig, a chance to call plays at a school like Michigan would be a great next step for him.

Whether he takes the job or not remains to be seen, but he should give it a long look.
