WATCH: Former SEC running backs run 40-yard dash at NFL Scouting Combine
Yes, it’s grown men exercising in underwear.
But make no mistake, the 40-yard dash times from running backs is a sight to see, especially in the SEC. Seeing the straight-line speed that the top NFL draft prospects have is always, at the very least, entertaining. Obviously it can help and hurt a player’s draft stock, but it’s always interesting to match guys up side by side.
There were 6 SEC tailbacks who rain the 40-yard dash on Friday in Indianapolis. None of them sniffed John Ross’ 4.22-second record last year, but several might’ve quieted doubts about their straight-line speed.
