When former Alabama QB Blake Sims went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, he eventually ended up trying to make it as a running back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On Wednesday, he was in Tuscaloosa to throw to receivers during Alabama’s pro day. His performance gave him confidence he can play quarterback in the NFL.

Afterwards, he said he would love another chance to crack an NFL roster (via AL.com):

“Oh yeah,” he said. “That just showed me I can still play it. It’s just a great feeling.

“I was really surprised the way I was throwing the ball. I looked at Saban and said ‘Is your arm still better than mine?'”

At this point, it’s unlikely that Sims will end up as an NFL quarterback, but that doesn’t mean his window is closed. He could still end up in the CFL or elsewhere if he really wants to give quarterbacking another go.
