Mike Evans reportedly lands extension, set to become NFL's 2nd-highest paid WR
Texas A&M has a strong recent history of producing NFL receivers and Mike Evans is a big part of the Aggies earning that reputation.
Following a stellar career in College Station, Evans is now being rewarded for his incredible production at the NFL level. News broke Friday that Evans has been rewarded handsomely by Tampa with a new five-year deal worth an estimated $82.5 million.
That deal will lock Evans up in Tampa thru the 2023 season and keep Jameis Winston’s favorite target in town for the foreseeable future.
Evans has recorded at least 1,000 receiving in each of his four seasons in Tampa. During that time, he’s caught 309 passes for 4,579 yards and 32 touchdowns. His durability has never been called into question, either, as Evans has played in at least 15 games each of his four seasons.
News of the deal is being reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.
Buccaneers’ WR Mike Evans agreed to a 5-year, $82.5 million extension that includes $55 million guaranteed, per sources.

The #Bucs deal for WR Mike Evans is expected to pay him just under $17M a year, sources say. Should put him right under Antonio Brown as the NFL’s highest paid player at his position.
