LSU appears to be trending in the right direction for one of the nation’s most sought-after prospects in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

Huge Hawaii defensive lineman Faatui Tuitele gave a personal shoutout three staff members at LSU following his recent trip to Baton Rouge. It should be no surprise to Tiger fans that the program is making a fullcourt press to impress the island native as the 6-foot-4, 299-pound Tuitele is ranked as a five-star prospect and the nation’s No. 2 defensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He’s also listed as Hawaii’s No. 1 overall prospect in a very deep year for talent from the islands.

Considering Ed Orgeron’s specialty is coaching the defensive line, and LSU currently employs arguably the nation’s best defensive coordinator in Dave Aranda, it’s no surprise Tuitele has interest in the Tigers. The next step for LSU will be getting him on campus for an official visit, likely in the fall.
