It’s always fun when former SEC players join NFL teams near where they went to college — LSU players to the Saints, Mizzou players to the Chiefs, Georgia players to the Falcons, etc.

On Tuesday, it was reported that a former Georgia Bulldog — DL Garrison Smith — was heading back to the Atlanta area to join the Falcons.

Smith, a former Seattle Seahawk, signed with the Falcons for the 2018 season, according to his management agency:

Smith appeared in eight games for the Seahawks last year, recording six tackles in his backup role.

He went undrafted in 2014 and has spent time with the New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks in his career so far.
