49ers GM John Lynch says Reuben Foster can rejoin team Thursday, but must earn place
On Wednesday evening, it was revealed that domestic violence charges against former Alabama LB Reuben Foster had been dropped.
Now that Foster only has a misdemeanor weapons charge pending, his future with the San Francisco 49ers is no longer in doubt.
According to 49ers GM John Lynch, Foster will be allowed to return to the squad on Thursday:
With domestic violence charges against Reuben Foster dropped, GM John Lynch said the LB will rejoin team Thursday. “It has been made clear to Reuben that his place on this team is one that must continue to be earned. We will continue to monitor the remaining misdemeanor charge.”

Lynch also made it clear that Foster’s place on the roster is not guaranteed moving forward, and it sounds like he’ll be on thin ice in the coming years.
In his one-plus seasons with the Niners, he has been quite a handful for the team, as he was also cited for marijuana possession back in January.
