If you missed it last week, Johnny Manziel finally publicly shared his side of the story from his infamous visit to the Manning Passing Academy.

According to the Heisman Trophy winner from Texas A&M, AJ McCarron, his roommate from the camp, was to blame for his early dismissal from the offseason camp. Manziel shared the story on the latest edition of his Barstool Sports’ Comeback Season podcast. The way Manziel explains it, McCarron ratted him out for something he didn’t even do and he claims other quarterbacks at the camp can verify his assertions.

McCarron has yet to publicly react to Manziel but that hasn’t stopped his father, Tony McCarron, from doing so. According to Mark Heim of AL.com, the elder McCarron fired back with a shot right back at the Aggie quarterback, who is currently playing in the Canadian Football League.

“I’m not reaching out to AJ regarding Johnny’s irresponsible behavior from five years ago,” Tony McCarron responded. “AJ has his plate full at the moment trying to secure the starting QB job for the Buffalo Bills.”

Tony McCarron also added this comment to Manziel’s story.

“In reference to Johnny’s remarks regarding AJ, I know Johnny’s career hasn’t gone quite the way he had hoped, and I know he’s struggled with substance abuse and alcohol, and we will continue to pray for him during his recovery,” he said.

This is likely where this story ends unless another quarterback from the camp comes forward and states his recollection of the events from the camp.
