Every SEC team has enjoyed multiple weeks in the Associated Press top 10 since the poll’s inception in 1936.

Of course, the beauty of the poll and its relevance in college football reveals the dominance some programs have had over time. Alabama, somewhat obviously, leads the way, while Vanderbilt has spent the least amount of time there.

Here is a breakdown of how SEC teams have fared in relation to AP rankings:

Alabama

Total weeks in Top 10: 534

Last season in Top 10: 2017

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (2017)

Skinny: The Crimson Tide have a streak of 10 seasons and counting of being ranked No. 1. It’s by far the longest streak in the storied program’s history, as it previous had a pair of 3-year streaks from 1978-80 and 1964-66.

Arkansas

Total weeks in Top 10: 198

Last season in Top 10: 2012

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (1965)

Skinny: The Razorbacks’ longest streak in the top 10 came over 26 consecutive weeks from 1964-1966. They also had a 20-week streak from 1968-70.

Auburn

Total weeks in Top 10: 280

Last season in Top 10: 2017

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (2010)

Skinny: Auburn’s longest streak in the top 10 came over 24 weeks from 1957-59. The high rankings in those seasons were twice ranked No. 1, and once at No. 3. They’ve been ranked No. 1 nine times.

Florida

Total weeks in Top 10: 323

Last season in Top 10: 2016

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (2009)

Skinny: The Gators’ golden era from 1990-2010 saw them be ranked in the top five 19 of those 21 seasons. That included seven No. 1 rankings. Overall, they’ve spent 41 weeks at No. 1.

Georgia

Total weeks in Top 10: 276

Last season in Top 10: 2017

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (2017)

Skinny: The Bulldogs’ longest streak in the top 10 is 25 weeks (1981-82). They can threaten it as the current streak sits at 12 entering this season. They’ve reached No. 1 15 times, including last season.

Kentucky

Total weeks in Top 10: 29

Last season in Top 10: 2007

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 3 (1950)

Skinny: The best era of Wildcat football came from 1949-51 when Big Blue was ranked in the top 10 for 10 consecutive weeks, including a high water mark of No. 3 in 1950. The coach? You might have heard of him: Bear Bryant.

LSU

Total weeks in Top 10: 293

Last season in Top 10: 2016

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (2011)

Skinny: The Tigers have 11 double-digit week streaks in the top 10 in their history, including their best of 32 weeks from 2010-12. They’ve been ranked No. 1 in 30 polls.

Mississippi State

Total weeks in Top 10: 19

Last season in Top 10: 2014

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (2014)

Skinny: The 2014 season still stands out for the Bulldogs as they were ranked in the top 10 for 10 weeks and No. 1 for 5 weeks. They’ve only been ranked in the top 10 otherwise just nine other weeks in their history.

Missouri

Total weeks in Top 10: 88

Last season in Top 10: 2013

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (2007)

Skinny: The back-to-back seasons of 2007-08, when the Tigers were ranked in the top 10 for 10 consecutive weeks, stands out, though they also notched nine consecutive weeks in 2013. Their highest rank since joining the SEC is No. 5, in 2013.

Ole Miss

Total weeks in Top 10: 124

Last season in Top 10: 2015

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (1964)

Skinny: No better era for the Rebels than 1959-63 when they rang up an eye-popping 50 consecutive weeks in the top 10, by far the most in program history. The closest streak is 13 from 1957-58.

South Carolina

Total weeks in Top 10: 38

Last season in Top 10: 2014

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 2 (1984)

Skinny: The Gamecocks are in the midst of their best era, at least the turn of the century has been. They’ve been ranked in the top 10 for 38 weeks in program history, and 26 have come since 2007. They came oh-so-close to being No. 1 in 1984, but lost at Navy, when a victory would have vaulted them to the top spot.

Tennessee

Total weeks in Top 10: 321

Last season in Top 10: 2016

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (1998)

Skinny: The Vols have been ranked in the top 10 in more than half of their total appearances in the Top 25 poll. They have spent 18 weeks at No. 1.

Texas A&M

Total weeks in Top 10: 193

Last season in Top 10: 2016

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 1 (1957)

Skinny: The early 1990s were memorable for the Aggies as they found the top 10 on streaks of 13 and 20 weeks in a span between 1992-93 and 1994-95. They’ve climbed as high as No. 5 since joining the SEC.

Vanderbilt

Total weeks in Top 10: 4

Last season in Top 10: 1947

Highest rank (most recent season): No. 7 (1937)

Skinny: The Commodores have reached the rankings in 14 seasons, but nine of those seasons came before 1959. They reached No. 13 in 2008, and former coach James Franklin took them to No. 23 in 2012.
