Former Auburn RB Roc Thomas’s career with the Tigers didn’t go according to plan, ending with him transferring to Jacksonville State.

However, he’s now in the NFL after signing with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent, and he’s making a great first impression.

In the second quarter of Saturday night’s preseason opener against the Denver Broncos, Thomas took a screen pass 78 yards for a touchdown, showing off great speed:

Thomas finished the game with three catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns. He also carried the ball eight times for 29 yards.

After the game, Thomas said he couldn’t be happier with how his NFL debut played out (via Vikings.com):

“I mean, I was thinking before the game, ‘OK, my first game,’ like my whole train of thought was to go in and try to get my feet wet,” Thomas said before adding with a laugh, “but, I mean, I got my whole body wet.

“The offensive line blocked great. It was an excellent game up front blocking-wise. The scheme we had and the game plan we had was great, so I feel pretty good right now.”

Thomas still has a long way to go to make the Vikings’ roster, but if he continues to put great plays like the one above on film, he’ll make a convincing case for himself.
