Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason added a commitment to the class of 2019 on Sunday, coming off a 41-10 dismantling on Nevada to start the season 2-0.

Gabriel Jeudy announced on Twitter that he is de-committing from Rice, and committing to play for the Commodores. The 6 foot 1 inch, 172 pound high school senior does not have a star rating on the 247 Sports Composite, but he currently holds offers from Army, Rice, Air Force, and Butler.

“I would like to thank my parents for sticking with me through this tough recruiting process.” Said Jeudy in a statement via Twitter, “I would also like to say thank you to Rice coaching staff for taking a chance on me, but I have decided to decommit.

“With that being said I would like to announce I am shutting down my recruitment and will be pursuing my academic and athletic career at Vanderbilt University.”

Jeudy added at the end, “The SEC dream, is becoming a reality, I am 100% committed.”

Vanderbilt currently holds the No. 50 recruiting class in the 247 Sports Composite, but travel to South Bend to play No. 8 Notre Dame next Saturday. If the Commodores spring the upset, that recruiting ranking could move up a few notches in the coming weeks.
