The Alabama Crimson Tide are 6-0 and look like an absolute juggernaut, but many think the Tide haven’t been challenged this year.

That’s fair, but the Tide can only play the teams on their schedule. This weekend, they take on a struggling Mizzou squad in what should be another blowout.

On “First Take” on ESPN, SEC Network host Paul Finebaum joined the crew and explained why it feels like Alabama is “sucking the oxygen” out of the sport this season, as you can see in the video below, shared on YouTube by ESPN:

“Alabama, once again — I’ve said this probably three or four times in the last 10 years — is sucking the oxygen out of the sport,” he said. “Because many believe it’s just a fait accompli that Alabama is going to win and there’s no one else. I happen to believe, as I’ve said a couple of times, that Ohio State is close, but maybe not there. I don’t think Clemson is. Georgia I’m still a little fuzzy about. Oklahoma’s gone. Notre Dame I don’t think matches up.

“The argument against Alabama has been the schedule. Instead of a really big-time game, which we thought we had last year with FSU, Michigan a couple of years ago, USC, they played Louisville, which was just forgettable. Louisville is just terrible. Bobby Petrino is close to the end there, which isn’t going to make anybody too upset. They’re still looking for a game and they’re not going to get one. This week, Missouri in prime time? LSU in a couple weeks, Auburn is banged up. It’s all about the championship game against Georgia — it’d be nice if Georgia went in undefeated. Alabama is playing itself, as they have done a couple of times in the past, and when they’ve done this in the past, they haven’t always succeeded. Alabama in 2013 was going for a three-peat. Same conversation, and then a 109-yard return did them in.”

Will the Tide get a test before the SEC title game? We’ll have to see, but it’s not looking good so far.
