The Georgia Bulldogs were the No. 2 team in the country heading into LSU over the weekend, but left with a 36-16 loss on their resume.

That has led to many saying Georgia’s first-half schedule wasn’t very good, and that’s clearly what Ryan McGee of ESPN’s “Bottom 10” rankings thinks.

He had Georgia at No. 5 in this week’s Bottom 10, and as you can see in the snippet below, the schedule had a lot to do with it:

For a month and a half, I’ve been barked at by Dawgs who said their team wasn’t receiving the same attention as Bama, Ohio State, Clemson and Notre Dame, or even Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma and UCF. The LSU game was UGA’s chance to finally earn respect for their accomplishments. Well … hey, going from being ranked second in the nation to being in the Coveted Fifth Spot, that is quite the accomplishment.

The Dawgs have a bye this weekend, but follow that up with a tough game against Florida in Jacksonville.

We’ll have to see how the Bulldogs fare moving forward, but they’ll need to play much better than they did in Death Valley.
