Mississippi State has lost to a pair of SEC rivals this season. But one college football insider doesn’t think the Bulldogs will add another loss when they travel to LSU on Saturday.

Brett McMurphy of WatchStadium.com is predicting a Mississippi State win over LSU. The No. 22 Bulldogs previously lost to Kentucky and Florida, but they notched a win over Auburn prior to last week’s bye.

A loss would severely damage LSU’s chances of making the College Football Playoff this season. The Tigers lost to Florida on Oct. 6. And although they’re coming off a win over Georgia, they still have matchups against No. 1 Alabama and No. 17 Texas A&M on their schedule.

“This is a tough spot for LSU,” McMurphy said in a video released on Twitter. “The Bulldogs, with new coach Joe Moorhead, you’d think they’d be known for their offense, what he accomplished at Penn State. But actually, Mississippi State is one of the top defensive teams in the country. I think the Bulldogs pull out a close win against the Tigers.”

The Bulldogs and Tigers are set to kick off at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.
