October football is now officially finished in the SEC, but a pivotal month of regular-season showdowns are coming soon. How will your team finish up? Let us take a wild guess.

SEC West

Alabama: 12-0

The next two games against LSU and Mississippi State could be interesting, but it’s hard to imagine this Alabama team struggling over an extended period of time, or even a half. They’ve been that good all season long.

Arkansas: 2-10

We don’t see any wins left on the schedule for Arkansas. That finale against Missouri has the potential to be interesting, but the Razorbacks might need to score 50 to hang with Drew Lock and company.

Auburn: 6-6

Beating Texas A&M at home is not an unreasonable expectation, but given what we’ve seen from these two teams, it’s a leap of faith we’re not prepared to make.

LSU: 10-2

It is going to happen for the Tigers on Saturday? Probably not, but that looks like the last challenge of the regular season.

Mississippi: 6-6

Ole Miss can make it to .500 if it can take down either South Carolina at home or Vanderbilt on the road. We’ll buy an either/or there and say they’ll do it.

Mississippi State: 8-4

Mississippi State is a talented defensive team that has struggled to figure out its identity on offense. Their non-Alabama opponents for November (Louisiana Tech, Arkansas, Ole Miss) will struggle to stop anything they threw out offensively, so getting to eight wins shouldn’t be a problem.

Texas A&M: 8-4

We can’t predict Texas A&M to beat LSU, but we are being optimistic about their showdown with Auburn next week.

SEC East

Florida: 10-2

The next two could be challenging, but at home, Florida should be fine. If they can handle Mizzou and South Carolina, then Idaho and Florida State shouldn’t pose much of a threat.

Georgia: 11-1

On the list of things we didn’t feel likely to be saying, consider this one: If Georgia can withstand Kentucky, they should be good to win out with relative ease.

Kentucky: 10-2

This record assumes a loss to Georgia, which really doesn’t look as certain as it sounds like it should. It’s been 41 years since Kentucky football was in this situation, capable of clinching a title with a home win against Georgia on Saturday.

Missouri: 7-5

October brought a month of tough competition for Missouri, but November, particularly after next week’s game at Florida, should be much more friendly.

South Carolina: 7-5

Ole Miss probably don’t have enough of a defense to hold off South Carolina next week, and if they ever get a replacement game scheduled, we assume it should be very winnable.

Tennessee: 5-7

South Carolina was the best shot at a path to six wins and bowl eligibility, but Tennessee came up short. Without it, the Vols have to get lucky in a home game against either Kentucky or Mizzou.

Vandy: 5-7

Wins against either Ole Miss or Tennessee gets Vanderbilt here to 5-7, but we’re not call for both.
