Mississippi State has become the latest Southeastern Conference program to announce its finalized coaching staff for the 2019 season as the Bulldogs have four new additions to Joe Moorhead’s staff.

Tony Hughes may be entering his eighth season in Starkville but next season will be his first working with Moorhead while Terry Richardson, Deke Adams and Michael Johnson all join the Mississippi State staff after working for other programs in 2018.

Moorhead will continue to call the plays in Starkville and has decided not to name an offensive coordinator following the departure of Luke Getsy to the NFL.

Here is the complete roster of full-time staff for Mississippi State in 2019, along with the specific titles handed out for each assistant coach:

  • Tony Hughes, Associate Head Coach/Tight Ends (eighth year)
  • Terry Richardson, Assistant Head Coach/Run Game Coordinator/Running Backs (first year)
  • Deke Adams, Defensive Line (first year)
  • Andrew Breiner, Pass Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks (second year)
  • Terrell Buckley, Cornerbacks (fourth year)
  • Marcus Johnson, Offensive Line (second year)
  • Michael Johnson, Wide Receivers (first year)
  • Joey Jones, Special Teams Coordinator (second year)
  • Tem Lukabu, Linebackers (second year)
  • Bob Shoop, Defensive Coordinator/Safeties (second year)

While Mississippi State may have four new assistants for next season, it should be noted that not a single coaching staff in the SEC remains intact from last season.
