Stingray Steve is fighting back.

Former Mississippi State superfan, Steven Ray — known best as “Stingray” for his calls into the “Paul Finebaum Show” and YouTube videos featuring rants regarding Hail State football or the program’s opponents — has reportedly filed a civil lawsuit against Barstool Sports from the state of Alabama.

News of Ray’s lawsuit against Barstool was first reported by Brett Hudson of Matt Wyatt Media. According to Hudson, Ray’s lawsuit, which is alleging negligence, invasion of privacy and wantonness against Barstool Sports and WorldStarHipHop, stems from an online meme featuring a photo of Ray with the caption, “how can someone look like a child and a child molester at the same time.”

Apparently, Ray, a graduate of Alabama, has given up his Mississippi State fandom and moved on from the days of his viral Hail State videos.

Dave Portnoy, the president of Barstool Sports, has issued his response to the news of Ray’s lawsuit.
