WATCH: Utah walk-on finds out he's on scholarship when his mother calls Kyle Whittingham during team meeting
Videos of walk-on players getting scholarships never get old.
The latest comes from Utah where senior lineman Kyle Lanterman found out the school was putting him on scholarship in a unique fashion. During a team meeting, Lanterman’s mother called in to surprise her son with the news.
Lanterman appeared in six games for the Utes last season after appearing in two games in 2017. He is originally from Long Beach, Ca.
Of course, the team went wild as you can see in the video below:
His mom called in the middle of team huddle… to tell him he’s officially on scholarship.
