Three Hinds Community College (Raymond, Mississippi) football players were shot during a drive-by shooting that injured a total of four at a convenience store on Highway 19 in Hermanville, per WLBT 3.

Twenty six year-old Lydell Page has turned himself into police and was charged with four counts of aggravated assault.

According to investigators, Page’s girlfriend got into an argument with another man on Facebook, and she told Page about it. Page went to meet up with the folks he was mad with bad intentions.

“We haven’t got to the total bottom of what happened, but it seems as if these individuals had talked about or had a conversation on social media about fighting. I don’t know if the other individuals were there to watch the fight or see if the fight was going to take place,” said Sheriff Frank Davis.

The StarTribune.com is reporting that authorities believe he was trying to shoot the mother of his children but missed. Instead, DB Gabriel Washington, DB Willie Brown and WR Kobie Ulmer were the three players/bystanders who were shot, along with Patrick Minor.

All four men were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, and at this time, there’s been no further update on their status.
