One of the highlights of South Carolina’s Garnet and Black spring game Saturday was when K Parker White was awarded a scholarship. The Gamecocks shared the news on the video board after White made a field goal.

“It was any easy decision,” Muschamp told reporters after the game. “He’s won two games for us going out there to kick the final kick of the game. A guy that went through a very up and down first year and fought through that. He had a fantastic year for us last year and just did a really nice job for us.”

After the game, White talked about his special moment

“It was definitely great,” White said, per GamecockCentral.com. “I definitely want to thank God and all my coaches and my family for allowing it to happen, specifically my parents and grandparents for helping pay through school, so I could be here until now. Having my parents come out on the field and all my teammates around me, that was definitely really special, and in front of the best fans in the country.”

White, a redshirt junior, went 13-for-16 on field goals and 45-for-46 on extra points in 2018. For his career, he is 27-of-41 on field goals and 71-for-72 on extra points.
