The Florida Gators won their first super regional game against SEC rival Tennessee on Friday, but after losing to the Vols on Saturday, a winner-takes-all game was set for Sunday.

And, in truly dramatic fashion, the game went into extra innings with the score tied at 1-1. That’s when junior OF Jaimie Hoover stepped to the plate.

As you can see below, Hoover made sure the Gators’ season didn’t come to an end, smacking a single over the shortstop’s head to send the Gators to Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series:

Hoover had struck out in each of her first three at-bats, so this game-winning hit will be extra sweet for her. Now, the Gators will head to Oklahoma City to take on No. 13 seed Oklahoma State in their first game.

This is the Gators’ third-straight trip to the Women’s College World Series.
