Remember when some questioned whether Joe Moorhead could recruit in the South? Anyone calling that into question must feel pretty foolish at this point as no Southeastern Conference can match the hot streak the Mississippi State program currently has on the recruiting trail.

After signing a top 25 class following his first season in Starkville, Moorhead’s program currently ranks No. 12 nationally in the 2020 recruiting cycle with 15 players committed to the class. The Bulldogs currently rank No. 5 in the SEC during this cycle.

The Bulldogs just picked up commitment number six for the 2020 recruiting cycle and second pledge of the day as Horn Lake linebacker Jakivuan Brown announced his verbal pledge to Moorhead’s program on Wednesday night. Earlier in the day, Holmes Community College receiver Caleb Ducking committed to MSU.

247Sports Composite Rankings list Brown as a 6-foot-3, 225-pound three-star prospect and the No. 15 overall prospect from Mississippi and the nation’s No. 52 outside linebacker. He commits to Mississippi State over LSU and Ole Miss. Brown announced his decision on Twitter:

“I would like to thank God for continuing to bless me daily. I want to also thank my parents and family for all their support. To my coaches and teammates thanks for pushing me to become better daily to have this opportunity. After much prayer and discussion with my parents, I’ve decided for the next four years to further my academic and football career at Mississippi State University. #GoBulldogs #HailState”
