Nick Saban, Alabama football family react to the passing of Crimson Tide superfan Walt Gary
Sad news to share as Alabama superfan Walt Gary has died at the age of 36.
If you aren’t familiar with Gary, he often met with Nick Saban on Thursdays to give a prediction for upcoming Alabama games in the fall.
Following the new, Alabama released the following comments from Saban regarding the sad news:
“Walt Gary was a special part of the Alabama football program and our hearts are broken by the news of his passing. He was beloved by everyone on our team, in our athletic department and through the Alabama family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Walt’s family, friends and everyone who knew and loved Walt as much as we did. The Thursday night radio show won’t be the same without hearing his game prediction and seeing his infectious personality. Walt will be truly missed.”
Gary was so well-known in Tuscaloosa, he was even featured on an episode of College GameDay:
