The longest-serving commentator at ESPN is calling it a career after 40 years of service.

Bob Ley announced on Wednesday that he is leaving ESPN after working for the sports network since its inception back in 1979. The former “SportsCenter” anchor served as host of ESPN’s popular news program “Outside the Lines” since its inception in 1990 while also hosting “E:60” for the network every Sunday morning.

In addition to his studio roles, Ley has a history of covering many sporting events for the network.
