The Auburn Tigers struggled offensively last year without coach Gus Malzahn calling plays.

In 2018, the Tigers also saw their string of 9-straight years with a 1,000-yard rusher come to an end. Boobee Whitlow led the way with 787 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Heading into the 2019 season, Whitlow has a lot of confidence. On Wednesday, Whitlow boldly proclaimed that “RB U” was back (via AL.com):

“RB U is back; that’s all I got to say,” Whitlow said. “RB U is back.

“We got the best O-line in the country, we got the best two quarterbacks in the country and we got the best running backs in the country. That’s all I got to say. We got the best receiver corps in the country. We got the best defensive line in the country, the best cornerbacks in the country. Who you going to stop?”

Whitlow, Kam Martin and Shaun Shivers will carry the load in the backfield for the Tigers this fall, so we’ll see if one of them can eclipse the 1,000-yard mark.

The Tigers have a tough test in Week 1 against Oregon.
