LSU has finally received word on Ed Ingram, the offensive lineman has been cleared to return to the team.

Ingram has not played since the 2017 season, when he was one of the standout performers on the team’s offensive line during his freshman season. During training camp last year, Ingram was suspended from the program following allegations of sexual assault against him back in his home state of Texas. Ingram has remained suspended since that time.

The news of Ingram’s return to the team was first reported by Brooks Kubena of The Advocate.

Earlier this week, the offensive lineman tweeted that he had been cleared to return but quickly deleted that tweet. Orgeron then followed that information up by indicating that good news was coming but that nothing was official heading into Vanderbilt week.

Following the news, LSU released the following statement from Ed Orgeron:

“Our whole team and our LSU family welcomes Ed Ingram back. He is an outstanding football player, an integral part of our team and family we are excited to have him back with us.”

Ingram appeared in 13 games his freshman season, starting the final 12 at right guard. While he’s back on the team, Ingram is unlikely to suit up for the Tigers this weekend against Vanderbilt.
