The good news for Florida State is that it won Saturday. The Noles beat Louisville 35-24.

The bad news is that nobody was there to see it.

Following a 2-1 start entering Saturday’s game against the Cardinals, Florida State fans basically threw in the towel. According to Wayne McGahee of the Tallahassee Democrat, FSU announced an attendance of 43,530 fans.

That would be a 36-year low, according to McGahee’s research. FSU had 42,117 fans show up in 1983 for the Louisville game.

The current capacity for Doak Campbell Stadium is 79,560. So, only a little more than 50 percent showed up Saturday.

When coaches start to see dwindling attendance under their watch, things get really tough. FSU fans are close to being fed up with Willie Taggart; however, he may win enough games in 2019 to keep his job for another year.
