It may still be September, but it’s never too early for some NFL mock drafts. In their latest 2020 NFL mock draft, CBS Sports projected 13 SEC players to be picked in the first round.

Four of those 13 went off the board in the top 10, and each of the first two picks of the mock draft were from SEC schools.

Those first two selections were Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas and Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who went first and second to the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals, respectively. Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was the No. 6 selection to the Washington Redskins, and LSU safety Grant Delpit came off the board at No. 9 to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

With still three months left in the season, all of this can change very quickly. For one, players will get better and worse, causing them to move up and down the draft board. Secondly, NFL teams will move dramatically around the board too, as some teams will improve and go on runs towards the playoffs while others will improve their draft position (especially in this mock draft, which had the Bills selecting after the Patriots).

Even if all the top 10 prospects remain the same until April, should the Miami Dolphins earn the No. 1 pick instead of the Jets or Bengals, then Tagovailoa will likely be the No. 1 pick. Miami needs a quarterback whereas the Jets still believe Sam Darnold is their solution behind center.

Regardless, it’s fun looking at these early mock drafts. Unsurprisingly, Alabama led the way among all the SEC schools with five picks in the first round of this mock draft.

Here is where all 13 SEC players landed in the CBS mock draft:
