A key South Carolina defender is reportedly entering the transfer portal, which is a huge blow to the Gamecocks.

Per a report from The State, there are multiple reports that CB Jamyest Williams, one of the top players in the secondary, is leaving the program.

Williams has appeared in all 4 games for the Gamecocks this year, making 3 starts. By entering the portal now, the junior defender will still have one year of eligibility remaining at his new school.

Williams has 16 tackles this year. In the previous two years of play, he recorded 3 interceptions for the Gamecock defense.

Williams was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school.
