LSU may have been the biggest winner on the field this weekend but they just lost a big battle on the recruiting trail to start this week as Florida native Donell Harris just pledged his commitment to Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M program.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound defender is rated as the nation’s No. 48 overall prospect, the No. 3 weakside defensive end and Florida’s No. 9 overall recruit by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Harris is the third-highest ranked prospect to commit to Texas A&M in the 2020 recruiting cycle with only receiver Demond Demas and safety Jaylon Jones rated higher by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Harris holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida and Miami among many others. He recently announced LSU and Texas A&M as his two finalists.

Texas A&M now holds commitments from 20 prospects in the 2020 recruiting cycle. The Aggies currently have a top 10 recruiting class and the SEC’s No. 4 recruiting class.

The four-star defensive end of Gulliver Prep in Miami announced the news Monday morning.

“First of all, this is the first important decision my mother and father have allowed me to make on my own. It by far has been a tough decision. I would like to thank God for guiding me along the path intended for me. Second of all, I would also like to thank my mother and father for all the sacrifices they’ve made for me, my sisters, and brother, I love you guys. Third of all, I would like to thank Coach Crummie, Coach Ben, Coach Ice, Coach Stark, Coach Tony, Coach Sims and Coach Cal, all of whom have helped me become the student-athlete that I am today. Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Ishmael Aristide for all the time and hard work he put in recruiting me and a couple of my comrades. Ish, you the best.

“With that being said, I will be committing to the University of Texas A&M University. Aggie Nation, I’m on the way to sack sh*t, buss dick and talk sh*t!”
