The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry highlights the SEC’s Week 12 schedule.

Georgia, who’s ranked No. 4 in the College Football Playoff standings, will need to win to keep its Playoff hopes alive, while Auburn and its nasty defense are looking to play spoiler.

Georgia enters as a slight favorite (-2.5), despite playing on the road in a hostile environment. Although Auburn has two losses, the Tigers look primed to upset either Georgia or Alabama this year and dash Playoff hopes.

FOX Sports analyst Colin Cowherd dropped his prediction for the big game, and he thinks Georgia wins and covers the spread 28-23.

“Take Georgia -2.5, they only have to win by a field goal. Georgia has dominated this series and they are significantly better at quarterback with Jake Fromm over freshman Bo Nix. We talk about Auburn’s defense but Georgia’s defense is BETTER. They’re number one in the SEC in virtually everything. Georgia hasn’t had a turnover in their last three games. This will not be a high scoring affair and you should bet the under (41) if you had to bet anything. Nix has struggled against every good defense that Auburn has played. Against top 40 defenses he completes 45% of his throws. Gus Malzahn has never proven to me that he can beat Georgia or win big games and I’m swallowing the points.”

If Auburn hopes to knock off Georgia, quarterback Bo Nix and the offense will need more production. Georgia boasts one of the nation’s best defenses, and Nix and company will need to be the difference.

Georgia and Auburn kickoff Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS Sports.
