Lane Kiffin is reportedly hiring away South Carolina’s director of player personnel.

Matt Lindsey will be Kiffin’s general manager at Ole Miss, according to a report by AL.com’s Matt Zenitz.

Lindsey joined the South Carolina staff roughly two years ago (Feb. 13, 2017). According to his South Carolina online bio, Lindsey led the Gamecocks recruiting effort:

Lindsey directs the recruiting efforts of South Carolina Football. He oversees all recruiting services and recruiting videos and identifies potential student-athletes for the coaching staff. In addition, he assists with camps, clinics, on-campus visits and other football related events.

Prior to South Carolina, Lindsey graduated from Alabama in 2013 and assisted in the Crimson Tide’s recruiting department as an undergrad. After graduating, he joined the Philadelphia Eagles as a scouting assistant. He was promoted to College Scouting Coordinator for the Eagles in 2014.

In 2017, Lindsey was recognized by 247Sports in its “30Under30” list of rising stars in college football. FootballScoop named Lindsey the 2018 Player Personnel Director of the Year.

Lindsey is the fourth member of Will Muschamp’s staff to leave after National Signing Day. On-field assistants John Scott Jr. (defensive line, Penn State), Thomas Brown (running backs, Los Angeles Rams) and Bryan McClendon (wide receivers, Pittsburgh Steelers) have also departed over the past couple of days.
