Former LSU star QB Joe Burrow is currently projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in this month’s 2020 NFL Draft.

However, not everyone is apparently sold on his ability to succeed at the next level, whether that’s with the Cincinnati Bengals or not.

Per NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks, there are concerns (a 7 on a scale of 1-10, in fact) about how Burrow will fare without Joe Brady calling the passing plays:

“It was one of the more magical seasons we’ve ever seen,” Brooks said in this video on NFL.com. “But I’m still going to rate my concern at a 7. This is the reason why. Last season, we saw him dominate in college football. But Joe Brady was the guy that orchestrated the passing game. … If Joe Brady isn’t around, how is Joe Burrow going to play? I think when you’re doing the full examination, you have to examine the entire body of work. I’m just worried about Joe Burrow’s play being kind of inflated by the system he played in at LSU. Can he replicate that in the National Football League without his offensive playcaller?”

Burrow should get an immediate opportunity to prove himself, so we’ll see what happens on Thursday, April 23.

Not having time to work with his new receivers due to the COVID-19 outbreak will certainly make things tough for him as a rookie, but he has overcome adversity before.
